cut like a razor – P01/52

with one comment

my buddy eddie b challenged me to do the p52 project with him.  we’ll both be taking selecting 1 photo each week and talking about the workflow, concept, and anything else that was involved.

this whole week, for me, has been about sharpness.  i recently picked up a nikon d7000 body, which, with it’s ultra hi-fi sensor, can be a little unforgiving in pulling focus, camera shake, etc.

so, i was out at an urban garden today shooting a few shots for an upcoming fundraiser, and i was just trying to nail focus.  every shot had to be tack sharp, and i was also trying to shoot really low to the ground so the viewer would feel almost “lost” in the garden.

one of the plots had a sunflower growing, and i couldn’t resist.

  1. Getting sharp results out of the D7K is something that requires a lot more effort on the hi-fi sensor.

I just dug up some that I took with my macro lens… Super sharp. So I think it is possible.
